Boosting Crop Yields: MOALI Deputy Minister inspects irrigation projects

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw, along with officials, visited farmlands in Nay Pyi Taw’s Zeyathiri, Pobba Thiri, and Tatkone townships on July 18 to assess water supply improvements for year-round crop cultivation.

The Deputy Minister and party inspected the Sin Thay Dam irrigation system in Pobba Thiri Township, where plans are underway to repair canals, dig new solar-powered tube wells, and install low-lift solar pumps to improve water access for extended farmlands. They also visited Magyi Pin Diversion Weir in Zeyathiri Township, which provides water for monsoon paddy and could be expanded through temporary weirs to serve more farmland.
