Monsoon tree planting: Rakhine State CM attended the event

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, in the morning on July 2nd, attended a monsoon tree-planting ceremony held at the compound of Home for Aged in Sittwe to commemorate Myanmar Women’s Day, which falls on July 3.

Also participating were wife of the Chief Minister, who is the Patron of the State Women’s Affairs Organization, along with the chair of the Rakhine State Women’s Committee and the state minister for Social Affairs. They distributed saplings to various organizations, associations, and departments for planting.

Later, at designated planting sites, Chief Minister U Htein Lin planted a mahogany tree, while his wife planted a starflower tree. Other attendees including the Chief Justice of the State High Court, members of the state government, departmental representatives, and civil society organizations planted trees at their assigned locations.

The Chief Minister and officials also toured the planting areas to observe and encourage the participants.

In total, over 250 trees were planted during the monsoon tree-planting ceremony, including mahogany, starflower etc. in honor of the upcoming Myanmar Women’s Day.
