MSME Day 2025: MoI UM attended the event virtually

On 24th June, MSME Day 2025 Commemorative Ceremony was held at the office of the International Labour Organization ILO in New York. Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than attended the ceremony through virtual system.

The ceremony was inaugurated with the opening speeches of special representatives of the ILO.  Then, a discussion was made under the theme “Enhancing the role of MSMEs as drivers of sustainable growth and innovation” with the participation of MSMEs representatives, policy and government representatives and economic support organization.

The ceremony was concluded after a group photo session. On 25th June, Union Minister visited the motorcycle factory of Myanmar New Power Co., Ltd in Dekkinathiri Township. There, the Union Minister heard reports on installation and production of solar panels using imported solar parts and arrangements carried out to produce necessary solar parts to produce solar panels locally.

Upon reports, the Union Minister assured to provide necessary assistance to implement the company’s solar panels project.  The Union Minister also urged the rapid implementation of inverter battery production projects. He also stressed on a strict adherence to existing rules and regulations in establishing factories and workshops within the nation.

Then, the Union Minister inspected the motorcycle manufacturing and installation process and stressed on quality products meeting set standards, from Semi-Knocked Down- SKD to Complete Knocked Down- CKD transformation, effective post-purchase service provision as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
