








The Ministry of Electric Power held its first Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony for 2025 at its Central Training School campus in Nay Pyi Taw on June 21. The event's objectives were to preserve the environment and ecosystem, promote greenery and beauty, prevent deforestation, and ensure climate stability.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun, Deputy Minister U Aye Kyaw, Directors-General and Managing Directors from the Union Minister's office, departments, and enterprises, as well as heads of departments, officers, and staff. They collectively planted 950 precious teak saplings in designated areas simultaneously.
Similarly, on the same day, tree planting ceremonies were held concurrently across various Regions and States at offices supervised by the Ministry, including project director offices, project manager offices, national grid offices, main substations, construction director offices, power plants, and Region/State/District/Township Electrical Engineer offices.
During these events, a total of over10,000 trees were planted simultaneously, comprising over 1200 precious teak saplings, 5,923 perennial fruit trees, 1,407 perennial flowering trees, and 2,146 shade-providing windbreak trees.
In total, the Ministry of Electric Power planted 11,715 saplings across the country simultaneously.
