Rural Development : Provision of high-yield rice seeds and inputs to farmers

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe visited Nyaung Kone  Model Village in Dekkhinathiri Township on Thursday to provide high-yield paddy seeds and agricultural inputs to local farmers. At the event, officials explained the cultivation plans under the cooperative farming scheme.

The Union Minister encouraged farmers to use quality seeds, improve soil conditions, ensure adequate irrigation, and follow proper farming techniques to achieve targeted yields. He highlighted that the government is supporting the program through national and cooperative funds in collaboration with private suppliers.

He also stressed the importance of identifying and addressing weaknesses, ensuring to improve future results and raise farmers’ incomes and living standards. During the event, 104 farmers from 11 agricultural cooperatives across 11 villages in Lewe Township accepted the provisions for the 2025-26 monsoon season.

The Union Minister also inspected the rehabilitation of a rural water tank damaged by the recent Mandalay earthquake, and visited trainees of sewing training who have started their own small businesses with support from the ministry. He pledged continued assistance for job creation and rural development.
