Opening of judo competition: MoSYA UM delivered the opening speech

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Region and State Judo Competition was held at the indoor stadium within the sports park in Bago Township, Bago Region on June 17th.

The Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, and officials were in attendance. First, the Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, delivered a welcoming address.

Following this, the Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman Union Minister delivered the opening speech urging the athletes to continue striving to become outstanding, nation-honoring athletes whom the state can rely on. He then officially opened the 2025 Region and State Judo Competition.

After that, the competing athletes recited the four-point sports oath. The Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and officials then cordially greeted the competing athletes and watched the men's and women's weight class competitions.

Later, the Union Minister, accompanied by officials, inspected the football field within the sports park, the office of the Bago Region Department of Sports and Physical Education, and the Region’s table tennis stadium and gymnasium.

He instructed the responsible officials on necessary matters to raise the standard of sports in the Bago Region and to produce a new generation of track and field athletes. This included instructions to arrange for the installation of a synthetic running track in the 2026-2027 fiscal year and to conduct regular cleaning for the long-term maintenance and tidiness of the sports grounds and stadium buildings, and to ensure the football field remains green and lush, it was learned.
