The 2025 Matriculation Examination is being held across 12 townships in Kachin State, with a total of 22 examination centers opened. The exams began on June 16. On the morning of June 17, the second day of the examination, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, along with responsible officials, visited several exam centers in Myitkyina to observe and encourage students taking the exams peacefully.
During the visit, the Chief Minister and officials encouraged students at the No. 9 Basic Education High School exam center in Myitkyina. They also warmly greeted and supported students as they exited the exam halls after completing their tests, offering snacks and bottled drinks, and speaking with the students’ parents to show their support.
Later that afternoon, the Chief Minister, along with officials, visited families temporarily sheltering in the Lachid Baptist Church in Tat-Kone Ward of Myitkyina Township. These families had been displaced due to recent violent conflicts in the state. The Chief Minister met with them and provided relief supplies including rice, cooking oil, and instant noodles. Additional needs were coordinated with relevant departmental officials for further support. Snacks were also distributed to the families and children.
After that, the Chief Minister, Commander of North Command Major General Aung Zaw Htwe, state ministers, and departmental officials visited poultry farms in the Palana village tract of Myitkyina Township to inspect chicken meat production.
Following this, the Chief Minister and officials inspected a site in Mankhein Ward near the Kachin State Hluttaw office. The land, owned by the General Administration Department (Head Office), is being considered for establishing a temporary camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Naung Hee Village in Waingmaw Township. They reviewed the location and discussed plans with officials to submit a formal request for approval. If permission is granted, arrangements will be made to accommodate the displaced families accordingly, it’s reported.
