Due to the heavy rainfall in the Maykha and Malikha river basins in the upper Ayeyarwady River, water levels in the Ayeyarwady River began to rise in Myitkyina, Kachin State, starting May 31st. On the night of June 1st and the morning of June 2nd, the river level reached 1205 centimeters, exceeding the city's danger level of 1200 centimeters. This necessitated rescue and relief operations, with flood relief camps being opened to assist affected residents.

The inspection was to assess the feasibility of temporarily relocating internally displaced persons from these villages. He then coordinated with responsible officials to facilitate the arrangements.
Following this, the State Chief Minister and officials visited No. (2) Post-Primary School, where they observed and encouraged teachers and students engaged in peaceful learning activities. The State Chief Minister met cordially with the school principal, teachers, and parents, coordinating with departmental officials to address their needs and providing cash awards for the teachers.
Later, the Chief Minister inspected the receding floodwaters along Union Main Road in Myitkyina's Myothitgyi Ward. He also visited households at the Aung Zay Yan Aung Monastery flood relief camp, inquiring about their living and dining conditions. The State Chief Minister informed them that the river waters had started to recede since the previous evening, advising them not to worry and to only return to their homes once all the water has fully subsided.
