Putin backs Trump's proposal to halve defense spending

Russian president Vladimir Putin said in the interview to Russian state TV that he is ready to negotiate with the US on reducing both countries' military budgets by half. He adds that Russian and US companies are "in contact with each other" discussing joint economic projects. Putin said last year that over 2024 defense and security spending would reach about 8.7 percent of GDP. He thinks it's a good proposal and we are ready for a discussion about this," he concluded.
