Creative Film Festival: Mekong Regional Creative Film Festival opened

The opening ceremony of the Mekong Regional Creative Film Festival (Traditional Sports and Food) under the Mekong-Korea Cooperation Fund (MKCF) program, organized by the the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, was held at the Myawaddy Media Center Ball Room in Yangon on Monday.

The ceremony was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister (Culture) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, Daw Nu Mya Zan, Rector of the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon), Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund, Project Coordinator, External Consultants from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Then, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein offered words of congratulatory and greetings.

After That, Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mya Zan, delivered an opening speech.

Then, Rector of the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon) Dr. Kathi Htwe, gave a presentation about the project, and Project Coordinator of the Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund (MKCF) Ms. Mi Jung Im, gave an introduction to the program.

Then, a professor from the South Korean University of the Arts (K-Art) and officials from Cambodia discussed documentary filmmaking skills.

Next, traditional games and traditional food documentaries from Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar were shown, and attendees had a question-and-answer session.

The Mekong Region Creative Film Festival (Traditional Sports and Food) will be held at the Myawaddy Media Center from February 17 to 20. Documentaries about traditional sports and traditional food by young filmmakers from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam will be screened and will be open to the public at the Myawaddy Media Center Cinema Hall. The Mekong region countries will showcase traditional sports and traditional food in a creative film competition. The project is being led by the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon) with the aim of sharing and preserving traditional sports and traditional food through the media, promoting cultural cooperation, building mutual understanding and friendship, and promoting respect for the diverse cultural traditions of the countries in the region.
