Nice Carnival 2025 opens with the theme 'The King of the Oceans'

The 140th edition of the Nice Carnival commenced in spectacular fashion at Place Massena, drawing a crowd of 25,000 spectators. With the theme, "The King of the Oceans," the event’s opening parade featured spectacular floats, dazzling performances, and a vibrant celebration of maritime wonders.

As one of the world’s three largest carnivals, alongside those of Rio de Janeiro and Venice, the Nice Carnival attracts around 200,000 visitors annually to the French Riviera. The Nice Carnival began on 15 February and will continue till 2 March.
