US President Donald Trump welcomed King Abdullah of Jordan at the White House on Tuesday. The meeting followed repeated claims by Trump that the US should "take over" the Gaza Strip and resettle Palestinians elsewhere.

Officials in Jordan have rejected any plans to resettle Palestinians there, and the king reiterated that stance. Abdullah told US President Donald Trump that his country was ready to take in some 2,000 sick children from Gaza.

The King said that he will wait to hear about plans from Egypt, which Trump has been urging to accept resettled Palestinians. The King Abdullah is the third foreign leader to meet Trump at the White House since the start of the US President's second term.
