Gazans faced long delays on the Netzarim Corridor, a key route dividing the Gaza Strip, as they waited to cross amid heavy traffic and poor road conditions. After Israeli troops reportedly withdrew from the strategic area, traffic in both directions built up, with vehicles struggling to move past piles of mud and debris.
The rain worsened the situation, making the road even more difficult to navigate for both pedestrians and cars. On the second day following the withdrawal, many Gazans expressed frustration with the continuing difficulties. Despite hopes that the road would improve, conditions became more challenging, as Egyptian soldiers patrolling the area struggled to manage the congestion.
The traffic jam caused distress for some passengers, particularly those with medical needs, such as individuals relying on oxygen cylinders. The ongoing delays and worsening road conditions left many trapped for hours, highlighting the challenges of crossing through the narrow corridor, which served as a vital route for both people and goods in Gaza.
