Morocco launched a campaign on Monday to vaccinate children in schools against measles after an increase in cases of infection in recent months. Immediately after the school holiday, schools began checking children’s health records to ensure that they had received the vaccination.
The Ministries of National Education, Preschool Education, and Health and Social Protection circulated a memorandum to directors of educational institutions and health directorates to organize the process of monitoring and completing vaccination in schools.
According to the memorandum, a copy of which is available to Al Jazeera Net, the ministry decided to exclude students whose parents refused to vaccinate them from schools in the event of cases of infection with it, to protect them from the disease while providing the possibility of continuing their studies remotely.
