EU Council President Costa arrives ahead of Brussels defence talks

EU Council President Antonio Costa arrived in Brussels on Monday ahead of a meeting with European Union leaders, British Prime Minister and NATO’s head to discuss strengthening Europe's defense capabilities. Costa hopes the discussions will guide the European Commission and High Representative in preparing the upcoming White Paper on Defence.  

.  Antonio Costa, EU Council President said "I hope that this debate achieves with a strategic discussion which provides the European Commission and the High Representative with our political guidance for the upcoming White Paper on Defence, and paves the way for the decisions we have to make in the coming months.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his call for American allies to increase their defense spending. The discussions reflect a broader push to ensure NATO's readiness in the face of shifting global dynamics.
