The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture donated the Aṭṭhakathā treatises to the various Sangha sects in the Magwe Region on Wednesday.

During the ceremony, Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin submitted the religious matters. After listening to the guidance, the congregation offered offertories to the Sayadaws. The religious scriptures of Lord Buddha were documented through oral recitation for 450 years, from the first Buddhist Synod to the fourth Synod, where the scriptures were inscribed on palm leaves.

At the fifth Synod, the scriptures were carved into stone inscriptions, followed by a printed version at the sixth Synod, which published 40 books of the Tipitaka in the Pali version, 51 Aṭṭhakathā treatises, and 26 Tikas. The 51 Aṭṭhakathā treatises, originally published in typed words, have now been computerized for re-publication with the guidance of veteran Sayadaws, following a thorough scrutiny process.

This process began on January 1, 2024. Of the 51 treatises, 21 have already been completed, six are in the printing process, and 24 are under scrutiny. A total of 1,000 copies of each treatise are planned to be published, with a contribution of 30,000 kyat for each book from well-wishers.
