Putin meets UN chief Guterres at BRICS summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday met UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the BRICS summit.

The meeting took place on the final day of the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan, a forum Moscow hopes will help forge a united front of emerging economies against the West. The pair were filmed shaking hands and Russian state media reported talks had started, their first meeting since April 2022.
