Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Canada’s Minister of Immigration announced that the country will reduce its immigration target for next year from 500,000 permanent residents down to 395,000, effectively reducing the target by 105,000.

The announcement was made while a group of caucus members who are also immigrants stood behind them both. Trudeau faced a caucus revolt on Thursday that he seems to have survived, saying he'll stay Prime minister after October 28th.
