Continuing inflation causes major rent crisis in Istanbul

In the city of Istanbul, with its millions of inhabitants, rents have risen by more than 300 per cent in the past three years. The Turkish opposition is calling for early elections due to the ongoing livelihood crisis that is gripping Türkiye.

New economic policies since Erdogan’s re-election promise that improvements should be seen in the coming year, but inflation remains sky-high for the time being. This is causing a major rent crisis, especially in Istanbul.
