AI innovation classes in schools of China

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly prevalent in schools across China. The revised curriculum framework for school education will be implemented in the coming school year.

The new regulation stipulates that the total teaching time for computer science in all schools must not be less than 8,320 minutes, which is equivalent to around 138 hours. Of the total teaching time, a minimum of 17 hours must be allocated to the subjects of programming and artificial intelligence.

Some schools have indicated that they are already integrating these elements into their primary and secondary school curricula in recent years. Furthermore, consideration should be given to the implementation of measures designed to enhance the training of relevant educators in China.
