Macau awarded the title of “Culture City of East Asia 2025”

Macau has been awarded the title of “Culture City of East Asia 2025”. The nomination of the title is a result of a joint initiative by the leaders of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.

This event marks the first of its kind in Asia and highlights a significant achievement in their collaborative efforts in the humanities. In a statement, the Chinese government is committed to leveraging Macau’s key position in the “Belt and Road” initiative to strengthen international cultural and artistic exchanges.

The official announcement of the Culture City of East Asia 2025 will take place in September during the 15th Trilateral Cultural Ministers’ Meeting in Japan.
