The first typhoon to hit Hong Kong this year came and went swiftly.  On 1st of June, the Observatory downgraded the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 to Standby Signal No. 1 as Maliksi further weakened into a Tropical Depression and, subsequently, an area of low pressure.

The Observatory said showers will ease off gradually on 2nd June with some sunny intervals. In Central part of Hong Kong, a 20 to 30-metres tall tree collapsed on the road. Firefighters removed the fallen tree branch. No one was injured in the incident.
