Indonesia is ready to deploy significant peacekeeping forces and medical personnel to Gaza if Hamas accepts a new ceasefire proposal, President-elect Prabowo Subianto announced on Saturday.
Prabowo Subianto, President-elect of Indonesia said "We are prepared to contribute significant peacekeeping forces to maintain and monitor this respective ceasefire as well as providing protection and security to all parties and to all sides. We are also prepared to immediately send medical personnel to operate field hospital in Gaza with the consent and agreement of all sides."
This follows US President Joe Biden's unveiling of an Israeli roadmap to permanent peace in Gaza, despite ongoing military action in Rafah. Prabowo endorsed the plan as crucial for ending the conflict. Hamas has responded positively to the ceasefire plan, which includes a six-week truce and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza's populated areas.
