Kobe Airport in Japan has closed its runway after a small airplane made a belly-landing during a training flight on Friday. Police said no injuries and no fire have been reported. Officials at the Hirata Gakuen aviation school in Kobe City said that a pilot in his 60s and two trainees in their 20s were on board the plane when it belly-landed.
The officials said the aircraft was conducting a touch-and-go landing, but it landed without its wheels being extended. The officials have deeply apologized for causing trouble to airline companies and others, as well as for affecting the operation of regular flights. At that time, 34 flights that were scheduled to take off and land at Kobe Airport had been cancelled.
