Defense officials from Asia, the West to discuss security at Shangri-La Dialogue

Defense officials from Asian and Western countries are set to hold meetings in Singapore on Friday. The three-day Shangri-La Dialogue brought together US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun and Japanese Defense Minister Kihara Minoru, among other officials.

The officials are expected to discuss security issues in Asia. The Japan Coast Guard has been invited to take part for the first time. Bilateral meetings will be held between the defense officials of various countries. A trilateral meeting of the defense chiefs of Japan, the US and South Korea is also scheduled.
