Maldives votes in parliamentary election

Voting got under way in the Maldives Sunday in a parliamentary election. Polling stations across the archipelago will be open for nine and a half hours. Among the first to vote was President Mohamed Muizzu, 45. Around 285,000 Maldivians are eligible to vote on Sunday, with results likely by early the next day.
