Heavy rainfall and strong convective weather caused floods in Guangdong

Heavy rainfall and strong convective weather in south China’s Guangdong Province over the past two days have caused waterlogging in many affected areas, leaving residents stranded in those worst-hit areas.

Local authorities also commenced a series of rescue operations in those areas to ensure the safety of residents. Meteorological authorities estimate Guangdong’s rainfall in April will be 10 percent or 20 percent higher than those in the same period of previous years.
