US Secretary of State Antony Blinken hosts NATO 75th Anniversary reception

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken hosted a reception at NATO's headquarters in Brussels to mark the 75th anniversary of the signing of the US-led defence alliance's founding treaty, at which a statue of founding signatory President Harry S. Truman is unveiled.

Truman's grandson takes the honour of revealing the statue to the assembled guests. The NATO secretary general said allies "agreed to move forward with planning for a greater NATO role in coordinating security assistance and training" with the view to reaching a deal by a summit in Washington in July.
