Jan-Mar dengue cases jump threefold

The ministry of health said that dengue cases in Indonesia in the first three months this year, have increased almost three times more from the same period a year earlier.

In March alone, there are more than four thousand and eight hundred additional cases of dengue. Minister of Health has said earlier the ministry of health has facilitated requests for larvicides and insecticides to address the increasing trend of dengue.

In addition to this, the health Minister said that the method of combating dengue using wolbachia-infected mosquitoes has begun to roll out in five major cities: namely Bandung, Jakarta, Semarang, Bontang, and Kupang.
