Top-division sumo rookie Takerufuji achieves historic win

Takerufuji, 24, has become the first top-division rookie to win a sumo tournament in 110 years. He faced off against Gonoyama on the final day of the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament in Osaka. He severely injured his right ankle the previous day and was taken to a hospital. He is known for his quick starts and pushing and grappling style. The Makunouchi division debutant clinched his title with 13 wins and two losses.
