Chinese Premier unveils GDP target as National People's Congress opens

China's National People's Congress kicked off on Tuesday in Beijing, with its GDP target unveiled by Chinese premier Li Qiang.

During his speech, Li said the foundation for China's sustained economic recovery and growth, and Beijing vows to pursue progress while ensuring stability for the economy in 2024. Li formally announced the growth goal, alongside the overall budget and key government policies for 2024.
