Chinese and Swiss FMs hope for stronger ties

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi co-chaired the third round of the China-Switzerland Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialog with Swiss Federal Councilor and Foreign Minister in Beijing on Wednesday. Wang said China is ready to work with Switzerland to open up new prospects for China-Switzerland innovative strategic partnership under the guidance of leaders of the two states.

The two sides had in-depth exchanges and reached broad consensus on strategic mutual trust, practical cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and multilateral coordination.Expressing their satisfaction with the feasibility study on upgrading the bilateral free-trade agreement, the two sides said they are willing to officially start the upgrade negotiations as soon as possible.
