First Latin American, Caribbean Day held in Beijing to foster closer ties

The diplomatic corps of Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries in China hosted the first LAC Day activity in Beijing on Saturday, aiming to promote people-to-people exchanges between the two sides.

China and LAC countries are separated by the vast ocean but both sides have always treated each other as equals for mutual benefits and advanced hand in hand on the path of development, said Zhang Run, Director-General of the LAC Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Held outdoors at Chaoyang Park, the event drew large crowds with vibrant performances, authentic cuisine, and traditional handicrafts showcasing the LAC region's culture and resources.
