During the UN Security Council (UNSC) open debate on Palestine, in New York, Indonesian foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said that the UNSC has the mandate to maintain international peace and security.

She highlighted that more than 25,000 Palestinians died in the war because the UNSC has been slow in its action. The open debate was the third meeting in the past three months to respond the Israel war in Gaza. The participation of Minister Retno in the meeting is part of the Indonesian government’s commitment to continuously support the struggle of the Palestinians.
