India and Africa seek stronger partnerships

India and Ethiopia are looking to deepen investment ties, while India and African countries are seeking stronger cooperation on trade, connectivity and development.

During his visit to Addis Ababa, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also called for greater representation for India and Africa in global decision-making. S. Jaishankar met Brook Taye, CEO of Ethiopian Investments Holdings, in Addis Ababa to discuss strengthening investment partnerships.

He also chaired a conference of India’s Heads of Mission in Africa, focusing on cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity and development. Jaishankar highlighted the shared aspirations of India and Africa, rooted in Global South solidarity, strategic autonomy and multipolarity.
