Death toll rises to 31 in Yunnan landslide

At least 31 people have died following a devastating landslide that hit a village in southwest China’s Yunnan Province early on Monday morning, according to the latest reports from the rescue site on Tuesday.
A total of 918 residents from 223 households have been evacuated to safe locations and two residents are reportedly receiving treatment in hospital. Currently, the rescue efforts involve over 1,000 personnel along with 81 search and rescue dogs and a fleet of over 150 excavators, loaders and transportation and rescue vehicles.
