India's latest warship Imphal inducted into naval force

The Indian Navy is all set to commission its latest Stealth Guided Missile Destroyer Imphal at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai on Tuesday. The destroyer is the third of four destroyers, locally-made by India as part of country's efforts to boost the country's maritime security and sovereignty.

Salik Imam, senior engineer officer said "It has got its own power generation, own drinking water production capacity, self-sustain, anything, firefighting. Anything, it just needs our men starting fuel and we just move to a mission. It never comes back till our mission is completed. Whatever is required, we replenish at sea."

It was designed by the Indian Navy Warship Design Bureau and constructed by Mumbai's Mazagon Dock Limited.
