Steel manufacturing expected as Indonesia’s First Green Industry

Indonesia is continuously improving the industrial sector, as an effort to enchance its steel production, and to make the steel manufacturing as the first green industry in the country.
Director of The Metal Industry of The Ministry of Industry said that Indonesia has considerable steel industry potential. Speaking at the inauguration of steel coating plant PT. Tata Metal Lestari, the director explained that Indonesia expects to develop its steel industry and accelerate import substitution, by constructing steel manufacturing facilities in a number of regions in the country.
He also encouraged steel sector in Indonesia to prioritize environmentally friendly practices, to support the target of net zero emission by 2050. The company also applies environmentally friendly standards by using the latest technology machines and solar panels.
