Indonesia-Brazil agrees on plan of action

Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister RetnoMarsudi and Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira signed the 2023-2026 plan of action on Monday. The plan of action includes some sectors such as energy and food security.

During the press conference, Minister Retno shared several points of the Indonesia-Brazil plan of action, such as negotiating for a comprehensive economic partnership. Food security also becomes a priority in the plan of action, including the acceleration of sustainable development.

Indonesia and Brazil will also cooperate in developing the vaccine for the foot-and-mouth disease. Apart from food security, the two countries agreed to cooperate on energy security, particularly renewable energy development.

After this bilateral meeting, the two countries will also hold a trilateral meeting with ASEAN’s Secretary General to increase the sectoral cooperation between ASEAN and Brazil.
