MoU signing ceremony: Legal cooperation and legal research project

The signing ceremony of MoU between legal cooperation and legal research project by the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the China-ASEAN Legal Research Center was held in Chongqing of China on 17th July.

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General Dr Thida Oo attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, the Union Minister and Union Attorney General Dr Thida Oo said that the Ministry of Legal Affairs is implementing 2020-2024 Strategic Project entitled, “Legal service for justice and fair” by five objectives and out of the objectives, cooperation with partner countries and international organizations is one of them.

According to the MoU, the Ministry and the China-ASEAN Legal Research Center will mainly cooperate in the research works for drafting law and in the fields of legal knowledge development.

By signing the MoU, Myanmar and China will exchange the study of knowledge on differences in the legal system, language, political policy and cultural norm and will be effective in cooperation of legal affairs of the two countries.

Later, Rector of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law Mr. Wu Yu Hong appointed the Union Minister and Union Attorney General as the Honorable Professor of the University.
