China-ASEAN Sustainable Development: Union Minister attends Int’l Forum on innovation & cooperation

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw who is currently in Guilin, China attended International Forum on innovation and cooperation for China-ASEAN Sustainable Development at the Grand Bravo Hotel in Guilin on Friday.

Vice Chairman of People Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, UNDP Deputy Permanent Representative for China, Ministers of Science and Technology from Cambodia and Malaysia, Union Minister for Science and Technology of Myanmar as well as representatives from Viet Nam and China gave speeches.

Later, relevant experts discussed sustainable development by respective sectors. After that, Guilin Mayor Lichu hosted a luncheon to Ministers of Science and Technology of ASEAN countries including the Union Minister and delegates.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister together with Myanmar Consul General in Nanning U Kyaw Soe Thein met 4 students who are learning at the universities in Guilin and provided necessary assistance.

Later, the Union Minister and Myanmar delegation visited Yanshou from Guilin by vessel along Li River and viewed conservation for sustainable development of natural environment and preparations of Guilin which is a world tourism city.
