Vietnam’s spice exports record good growth in 5 months

Vietnam exported over 6,400 tonnes of star anise for 39 million USD in the first five months of this year, as reported by the Vietnam Pepper Association. This has led to a spike in this product's export growth, by 129% in terms of quantity and more than 200% in value year-on-year.

Alongside star anise, pepper and cinnamon from Vietnam have also gained popularity in many foreign markets. The country's export of spices in 2023 is forecast to hit 400,000 tonnes in volume and 1.5 billion USD in value, resulting in a yearly growth of 7%.
