Abbas hopes China will mediate Palestine-Israel conflict

At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas paid a four-day state visit to China from Tuesday to Friday, expressing appreciation to China for its long-standing political and economic support for the Palestinians.

In an exclusive interview with China Media Group in Beijing, Abbas commended China's co-hosting of the China-Arab States Summit held in Saudi Arabia last year. Regarding the lately escalated tensions between Palestine and Israel, Abbas said his country sincerely welcomed China's efforts in promoting reconciliation.
