Indonesia to woo Norway investors in EV battery

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has invited Norwegian Government and investors to invest in electric vehicle battery production in Indonesia.

Retno Marsudi conveyed the invitation during the meeting with her Norwegian counterpart in Oslo, Norway on Monday. The two ministers discussed on bilateral partnership in forestry energy transition and Norwegian investment in Indonesia’s electric vehicle battery industry. Indonesia is committed to developing downstream industry for electric vehicle batteries and the whole ecosystem for electric vehicle nationwide.

In its efforts to build electric vehicle ecosystem the government has issued a policy which provides cash assistance for electric car and motorcycle buyers starting in March this year.
