President Jokowi’s Malaysian Visit Produce Six MOUs

President Joko Widodo’s visit to the Seri Perdana Malaysian Prime Minister office complex in Putrajaya on Thursday has produced six memorandums of understanding between Indonesia and Malaysia. 

A statement by the media bureau of the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat revealed that the first MOU is on border agreement, while the second is on border trade agreement. Two other MOUs are on sea border agreement at the southern part of the Malacca strait and on sea border agreement at the Sulawesi Sea.

The fifth MOU is on investment promotion cooperation and the sixth MOU is on halal certification. President Joko Widodo specifically appreciates the border agreement which were eventually achieved after about 18 years of negotiation.
