










Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han, together with officials, on Saturday visited KinTar 30 megawatt Solar-powered Power Plant in Myittha Township.
Officials reported on work undertakings and test sending of electric power. The Union Minister instructed for beautifying of the project areas, and expressed thanks for providing cooperate social responsibilities to the nearby villages. KinTar Solar-powered Power Plant is situated near KyiTaing Village, and built on over 132 acres wide land plot.
At present, 19 megawatt electricity has been distributing on a test run, and 90.8% of the project has now completed. The Union Minister and party later arrived at KinTar Multi-purpose Dam, and heard reports on annual storage of water in the dam.
The Union Minister instructed to monitor the weather forecast and make preparations for operating generators based on the water inflow and distribution of the dam. They later inspected the inflow of water into the dam, water storage, and durability of the dam.
On arrival at KinTar Hydropower Plant, they inspected the operation of the power plants and sending of electricity to the national grid. The Union Minister also met with the staff and instructed for the welfare and security matters. He also provided cash assistance and foodstuff.
KinTar Power Plant is situated on PangLaung River and it has two 28 megawatt installed generators which can generate 165 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. The electric power has been sending to the national grid through 132 KV KinTar-Tharsi and KinTar-InnKone power lines.
The Union Minister and party later proceeded to 500 KV KanKaung Power Sub-Station Project near Mile Post No.293 on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. Officials reported on work undertakings and future plans. The Union Minister instructed for work site safety, security measures, and timely completion of the works meeting the set standards.
They also inspected the arrival of the transformers, installation of Hybrid Gas Insulated Switch Gear and Shunt Reactor and construction of the control room. Kan Kaung Power Sub-station is the very first project of 500 KV Sub-station in Myanmar and 73.19% of the project has completed so far.
