Health Treatment:Providing treatments for Pediatric Patients

The Pediatric Patients who are diagnosed withCongenital heart defect disease are being providing treatment at Yankin Children Hospital. The hospital has been providing best health care services to the patients by making collaboration with the specialists from other countries.

With the collaboration of the specialists from Viet Nam and Myanmar Pediatricians, effective treatments were provided two times in 2022 and one time in January 2023 to pediatric patients with Congenital heart defect disease.

Dr. Kyaw Myo Hlaing, Medical Superintendent, Yankin Children Hospital, said " The Emergency room and outpatient department of our hospital are opened 24 hours daily.In order to provide effective health treatments to the pediatric patients, a knowledge exchange program was conducted between the surgeons from the hospital and the surgeons from Vietnam. They also gave treatments to pediatric patients together with our physicians."

The Ministry of Health has also provided necessary medical equipment needed for giving treatment to the patients.

Prof. Dr. Khin Maung Oo, Pediatric Cardiologist, Yankin Children Hospital, said " In 2015, the Ministry of Health provided us the Catheterization Laboratory to use in giving effective treatments to Pediatric Patients. There are various categories under Congenital heart defect disease.Some Pediatric Patients need to take surgery treatments but some need to be cured using Catheterization Laboratory. There are over 1,400 pediatric patients we have given treatments using Catheterization Laboratory since 2015."

Kyi Kyi Aye, Parent, said " My daughter is diagnosed with atrial septal defect. Previously, she was seeing a pediatrician and she usually exhausted. Now, she took laser treatment for atrial septal defect. Half of a total cost of the laser treatment was provided by well-wishers of Yankin Children Hospital. I’m very grateful to the doctors and well-wishers for their genuine support and care."

Yankin Children Hospital has been providing treatment to the pediatric patients with Congenital heart defect disease, and about 300 patients have recovered and discharged from the Hospital every year since 2015.
