Peace Talks: SPTT holds meeting with RCSS peace delegation

The State Peace Talks Team (SPTT) and the peace delegation of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) held discussion at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

Firstly, State Administration Council Member and Union Minister at the Government Office, Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee, Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen YarPyae warmly welcomed to the RCSS Chairman General YawdSerk and party.

Later, the two sides openly discussed agendas and topics to be discussed at the meeting. The talks was then continued according to the programs negotiated by the two sides. At the meeting, Leader of Peace Talks Team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and the RCSS Chairman General YawdSerk extended greetings respectively.

Later, they discussed the issues that have not been yet completed at the second meeting, matters to amend the basic sections from the 2008 Constitution in building a Union based on democracy and federalism and the proposals that the two sides would like to discuss. They then shared their attitudes and desires with each other. The 1st day meeting then adjourned and the 2nd day meeting will continued on 25th January.
