The land port of Erenhot on China's border with Mongolia saw cross-border passenger traffic on Sunday, three years after the port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region suspended services due to COVID-19 epidemic control measures. About 45 passengers took shuttle bus arrived at the Erenhot port on Sunday.
Erenhot is the largest land port on the China-Mongolia border and a crucial entry and exit port for one of the China-Europe freight train routes. With the port resuming full operations without COVID restrictions, many are expecting significant growth in both cargo and passenger volume.
