State to sell new Gold Coins: Coins marking 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day

To commemorate the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which will fall on the 4thof January 2023, the government will sell new one-tical coins and half-tical coins and will be available at the Myanmar Gems Enterprise in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay starting on the 5thof January.

Aung Aung, Permanent Secretary, Central Bank of Myanmar said "The new one-tical and half-tical gold coins have 26 millimeters in diameter and 2 millimeters in thickness and white elephant, the word “75th”, “one-tical 2023”, “half-tical 2023” and inscription of the phrases “75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” and ‘Central Bank of Myanmar’in Myanmar language in front and the same in English on the back."

Gold coin purchasers will also receive certificate of authenticity issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar and the Gold Casting Department.
